steering grinding

zt 190, 54 plate, 68K. steering has started to make a graunching / occaisional screech at slower speeds, mainly turning right but sometimes turning left as well. Is this definetely going to be a new pas pump or could it just be a loose / or worn belt.

Have you checked the level of your Power Steering Fluid , it may be that you have a leak and it needs topping up.
