Gas welding rods?

I've not had the opportunity to gas weld since school and a long time ago. I picked up a bundle of copped covered steel rods about 1/8" x 3' at a car boot - would these be gas welding rods?

I ddn't buy them for actually welding, but for marking out the 'mines' in the garden when mowing - I'm just curious as to whether they are intended for gas welding.

Yes, they are most likely gas welding rods. See these.

You must live in a dangerous place having to put mines in your garden.
I just hope if you have any cats or dogs you give them safety kit when they go outside.
