2.5 V6 timing belt change - special tool - missing 1
Hi - am about to replace the timing belts on my Rover 75. I have all the tools except for the exhaust camshaft tool used to align the keyways on the rear gears. I believe it's tool part number 18G 1747/4.
Is this tool necessary, and can it be done without it somehow? John |

Hi John,
It is 18G 1747-4 but you don't have to buy anything extra. It's part of 18G 1747-2, the front sprockets locking tool so use that. Simon

Officially it IS a separate tool, the Rover supplied 18G1742-2 did not have a keyway for the exhaust cam, only aftermarket tools have this.
