Default Rover 75 tourer harmon kardon speaker diaphragm split

Hi folks,
Hope we all well.

Just bought a Rover 75 Tourer 2005.
The Harmon Kardmon system sounds superb but thought something was loose and vibrating.

Further inspection the sub woofer speaker diaphragm has split hence the vibrating sound. I am assuming I am using the right name for the offending item. If you stand at the back of the car, open the tailgate it is the speaker that can be seen if you remove the cover from the left hand removable cover.

I was able to unscrew the speaker out, but could see no spec details. My question therefore is it feasible to simply replace the speaker and if so what spec if speaker should I replace it for.

Another question I have are the remaining speakers in the door cards standard or are these specific spec for the Harmon KARDON set up.

Many thanks
Take care
Steve

Yes Steve, it is feasible to replace the damaged speaker. It's unlikely that anyone selling an HK system will want to split it but you could keep your eyes on the club pages and e-bay just in case. Failing that, any woofer of the correct diameter with the highest power rating you can find will suffice. The challenge will come when the mounting holes don't line up.

They are HK brand too, including the tweeters. I bought a set of these from MG Rover soon after buying my car. I contacted HK for the specification but they wouldn't release any information on the grounds of commercial confidentiality.

Cheers Simon,
Based on your advice put request over many Facebook forums, Jules has let me have a 2nd hand one for £40. The whole sub unit, tested and working, so has worked out to be a cheap fix and easy swap over so no fitment shinanigins. Thanks for the info saved me quite some hassle.
Take care
Steve

If the cone is what is damaged, then this can be replaced, try repairyourspeakers.com (Audiofriends.eu)
They may be able to help, I think they are in the Netherlands.

I fitted one of these to my tourer when I had it, did the job to be honest and not a price you can really argue with. Drops straight into the same hole as the factory speaker.
