what is the torque setting for
what is the torque setting for the 3 bolts that hold the engine top cover in place on a diesel? The three bolts are the ones that if the go in too far, I think create a bit of an oil leak
It must be low torque setting but I cant find it in the Haynes manual and want to make sure don't over tighten thank you macafee2 |

When looking from the front the bolt on the left is the one that leaks if too long a bolt is used.
I do mine up with a 1/4" ratchet and put my hand over the head of the ratchet and just nip the bolts up. Not answering your question but I don't know the torque figure either

It's in RAVE.
Workshop manual service procedures > Torque wrench settings > 06-2 Engine, M47R. Simon

Next question, how will you measure 9Nm?
Without access to rather expensive kit, you should use your judgement. 9Nm is a single hand nip using a 6" spanner/socket wrench. TC Last edited by T-Cut; 26th September 2019 at 18:08.. |
