is the red light coming on your remote when you press it ,if not the batteries are probable worn out or they might be a problem with the circuit board inside the remote remove the back of the fob and have a look to see if theres anything out of place rgds mark

Good morning Simon, you need someone with T4 to run a diagnostics check.

I suspect a failure in the mechanical linkage to the door locking motor.

Stand closer?
Press the button harder? (kidding)
New battery (right way up).

Put stethoscope to door and listen for the solenoid: if you can hear the solenoid then it's a mechanical linkage failure.

Don't assume that red led flashing means that the fob circuit is working properly: it may only be working well enough to make the led flash!
Try the spare key....

Q) Is the non-functioning fob a cloned fob (rather than a properly setup keyfob?).

Lastly give up and use the key itself in the lock to open the door - it's not that much of a drag. Get it fixed later.

Well work this one out I she started to unlock on the remote last night after about 5 days of not working l
Swear my car has gremlins as in not so long a go she would just cut turn the key on the go she would run for a couple of seconds or a couple of days she sorted her self out l never got to the bottom of that one.
