Two more shows you might like to consider...
I have just read some of the threads regarding shows in the South West. As someone who is involved in the promotion of a couple of events, I can advise you that a club entry to the Historic Vehicle Gathering at Powderham Castle on 12th and 13th July would be welcome, as they already accept modern Rovers and MGs on marque specific car clubs displays.
You are also welcome to attend the annual Classic Vehicle Gathering held on the Imperial Recreation Ground in Exmouth, which takes place on Sunday 17th August. There is no need to book in advance and no entrance fee to pay. Anyone who wants to makes a voluntary donation to the Devon Air Ambulance Trust are advised that collecting buckets will be present. Please phone Lorna on (01823) 672693 if you would like to reserve a display area - again there is no fee for this. Finally there is Thornfalcon Classic Car Meet at Henlade, near Taunton, held on a Sunday in early September, which again has no entry fee or need to book in advance. However, it is advisable to contact them beforehand if you would like an area reserved for a club stand. I am saddened to hear about the recent change in rule towards car clubs with 'modern' vehicles by the organisers of the Paignton Green Classic Car Show. They seem to have become pedantic in the last few years with a change in committee and I know this has put some vehicle owners off from attending. Their refusal to accept an entry from you as a car club might turn out to be a blessing in disguise!
