This is indeed sad news, but not entirely unexpected. The demands on Brians time is growing ever greater, and I count myself guilty of adding to it

We all know just how much Brian puts into every job he does, it's no surprise he's feeling like this - T4 burnout!!

The first thing should be to go lock the T4 in the shed and forget it exists for a while, start enjoying some personal / family time and start driving some of the fleet rather than tinkering with them

You may find you gravitate back to it, you may not, either way, you need to start enjoying yourself again Brian, the forum will still be richer for having you here, red or blue

When it begins to take over and become more of a duty then it's gone too far.

How about training up a "sorcerer's apprentice"? That way, it takes some of the load off and you get to pick and choose what you are comfortable with.

I know you would never pass on all the knowledge but something is better than nothing and it would be a great help to members........

At the end of the day, you do what's best for you though and its your decision and if its getting too much, when all is said and done you need to look after your best interests.

All the best,

Dave

I like many owe you a debt of gratitude for jobs big and small.
I would echo what's been said as regards taking time out and hanging up the wand for a while.
Whatever you decide it has to be what's best for you

Having been lucky enough to witness and be on the receiving end of Brian's tireless efforts on several occasions, he is a true gentleman.

The 20+ hour day he did for the charity event as an example. I can think of no other who would have done so much just to simply help others.

There is such demand for his skills that I have seen first hand that when Brian attends meets, he doesn't get chance to talk to people for plugging in people's cars.

It is the same in his home life, with much of his spare time devoted to T4 sessions, he simply misses out on family time, which is just not fair.

While it would be a sad day if you stopped completely Brian, I would completely understand and fully support your decision. I personally had to quit a job as I had no family time each week, so fully understand your position.

I hope you make the right decision for you and your family, not anyone else.

Brian, I have never had the pleasure of meeting you or the privilege of letting you look over my car but I can only echo what others have said. Take time out and step back from the machine and consider what is important to you and your family. This club needs you, but not at the expense of wrecking your health, family life and sanity. I have no doubt you may well want to keep on being top wizard, but in a slower less frantic way.

Having met Brian on a few occasions and shared numerous phone calls with him, albeit on his vintage Nokia 3310, which is not the phone you would expect an electronics expert to be using, the guy cracks me up, an absolute laugh a minute. But when it comes to these cars, the man is a marvel.

I watched him at work on Sunday. Big Russ was also present and these guys set about 30+ cars with enthusiasm and skill, an absolute pleasure to be in their company and they are only to willing to pass on that extra bit of information to the likes of myself.

Brian, if things are getting on top, take a break. Perhaps a rethink and make a decision. I for one appreciate your efforts as do a lot of other members. Without the like of you on these boards and at meets would be a massive loss.

Take care, your a star.

Brain
You need to relocate to the South West and take life a bit easier we hardly ever need a T4 in this neck of the woods so the demands would be much less on you down here mate..Of course while you are here you could just ...

On a serious note you have given much to this club and it's members and I wish you well whatever your decision, and you are welcome to visit me any time with or without T4
Best regards Ian
