[QUOTE=Jules;1472510]This is like reading your own obituary Brian.
Defo have some time off and get that pipe & slippers out !!
I'm sort of deliberately having at least 4 days off to go to the NEC Classic.

It's the pipe and slippers that got Brian into trouble in the first place Jules 😜

Too right, you need to apply a high order tuneable bandpass filter to your "volunteer" work. Get back to the good old days of single core processors (6809 was my fave) and stick the Wand onto a low priority timer interrupt. This parallel processing isn't all it's made up to be - just look at the Transputer! (but if you ever fancy turning your hand to linear accelerators, drop me a line)

Thanks for all your help and advice.
Andy

Inmos T414 eh

I'm a Z80A man myself, not a huge fan of the 6809, spent too much time repairing a Williams "Defender" in a previous life
Did however play with the 68000 in the QL, oh happy days

Brian

P.S. I've yet to breathe on your car Andy

P.P.S. I'll leave the LINAC's to the real experts

Yep, bringing back some good old memories, used to do a lot of work with 68705 (6805 with inbuilt uv eeprom) on an HP64000 emulator...

I've also done some 68K work and more recently a lot of AVR stuff (wonderful beasts, much better than PICs) and most recently ARM7, but that was all in C so didn't get the appreciation of the architecture as much as you do when using assembly. Sadly though that's all behind me now

I was blessed early last year when I called round to yours after work and you diagnosed my intermittent door alarm problem
