Default Classic Car Gathering in Exmouth - Sunday 18th August 2013

If anyone is interested in attending a friendly classic car gathering not too far from the sea in Exmouth, East Devon, then the annual Classic Vehicle Gathering organised by the Devon Branch of the Morris Minor Owners Club takes place on Sunday 18th August, from 10am.

No need to book in advance and no entry fee to pay. Just turn up on the Imperial Recreation Ground (next to Exmouth Rugby club) and stay for as long as you want. If you want to have a club display area, you would need to speak to Lorna Moggridge beforehand, so that they can allocate you a display area. Telephone (01823) 672693 during office hours.

In previous years the gathering has attracted over 200 cars and raised over £1,000 through voluntary donations for the Devon Air Ambulance. There is no age restriction on cars and they can be either standard or modified, immaculate or well used. A friendly welcome is guaranteed!

Hi David
Thanks for bringing this to the attention of our members and please feel free to start a list for anyone who would like to come along, you could try contacting Smoggle as he is (I think) the RS for Devon and Cornwall. Unfortunately I will be unable to help out or attend as I am already committed elsewhere..
Cheers Ian

Just to add a little local info, to help anyone thinking of coming...
The field is by the river Exe, with the river and hills beyond as a backdrop for the show. The town centre is a few hundred yards away, and the beach is a ten minute walk away, so if you have a better half or kids that have no interest in cars, then there is plenty of things to keep them entertained. The beach is over a mile of golden sand, v. child friendly. The towncentre also has loads of cafes and bars and takeaways, so you wont get ripped off by on-site feeding sites. It should be a good day out...

Directions; M5 junction (Exeter), follow signs to Exmouth A376.
In Exmouth, stay on the A376 follow signs for railstation, Imperial Field is next to the combined Bus/Train station. Time from M5 about 15mins.

Hope that is of help.
