Default T4 TestBook / HHT question

Gents,

after spending so many years with TestBooks, there are still a few questions remaining (for me).
I've been in touch with Phil some time back, but I guess he isn't around that often anymore nowadays.

Here's my problem: I'm using a T4 Dock with a HandHeld Tester and want to upgrade the software on the HHT. I do have the DCD0L05 CD for Handheld, but this does not communicate with the Handheld. I Tested every possible configuration, but the Laptop does not recieve the data packtes from the Dock (However diagnose of my Car works perfectly).

It seems there must be a newer DCD0L06 CD .... does someone has a copy of that one?

Second: for upgrading the Firmware of the T4 Dock, there's the DTC4216A Interface card with serial cable. Could someone post a picture of the card for me please?

When I fixed my broken T4, I spent DAYS with replacing Processors and Memory ICs. So I would be happy if I could also get the rest working.

BR
Ralf

... I know this isn't something which is asked frequently, but I thought that here's the center of competence and wisdom re TestBook questions ;-)

Sorry, the only HHT Update disc I have is DCD0R01

Happy to try your "05" on my HHT/dock to see if it works to eliminate that from the equation.

Curious to know what was wrong with the dock side, and you replaced IC's (how did you knwo to replace them)

got a dock here that doesnt want to seem to talk over IP at the moment.

found this as well

Thanks Rich,

the DCD0R01 I do have as well, but I'm happy to share my copy with you.

re my Dock: the previous owner must have applied wrong polarity to the unit, which resulted in the H8 Processor to blew up.
I found spare parts in China and worked my way through the rest of the PCB.
Was a long story. At the end a RAM Chip was blown as well.

For your Dock I also know the solution. The Info for your LAN Chip is corrupt and needs a new EEprom. Happy to fix it for you.

And for the link for the Card: I only need a picture of the PCB side. I need to know if only the serial line is connected or if something else is bridged.

Thanks Dougy -

Thats really interesting. Ill PM' you reguards the disc.

The dock is not mine, but I offered to take a look to try with my own setup. It seems to have had a non-standard IP' set, but would not let me set a new one, or ping on the non-standard IP. I'll mention it to the owner..

ITs really great you can fix these as we need to keep them running

I just resurrected two T1's over the weekend, but when it comes down to low level electronics (iC's etc) im out of my depth

By a long shot - I dont suppose you know anything about the TIM unit (for Microcheck emulation) do you? I have 5 of them, and have tried each of them in all manor of configs, with my T4's, various laptops, the T1's and each time I get a an error 324 . At a loss.

...in fact I do

I tried to summarize some info some time back

I have to ask for aplologies for the bad english.

The Microlink Interface DTC0001B however is vulnerable. It contains a NiMH Backup Battery, which dissolves like the T1 Battery Pack and destroys parts of the PCB when not replaced early enough.

Thanks for getting back, sir!
That would be more than helpful, Jamie!

Would it be possible making an iso available for download somewhere?
