Possible fix for intermittent parking sensor function.
Hello everyone,
I thought I'd share this as it may help someone. For the last 3 or 4 years my R75 Tourer's parking sensors have been temperamental. Sometimes they'd work fine but perhaps 20% of the time if get a constant tone. I tried all the usual fixes and everything seemed ok, until one day they stopped working completely. This was accompanied by a lack of reverse lights and no rear wiper when the car was put in reverse with the wipers on. A quick test showed that the reverse light switch in the gearbox had failed so I replaced it and everything worked again. The odd thing is, however, that the parking sensors have worked flawlessly for several months now, Could it just be a coincidence? Well maybe, but if you've tried everything else this may sort yours as well. Happy Rovering in 2024! |
