Default Kenwood KDC-W3041

My ZT has a Kenwood KDC-W3041 fitted, does anyone know if its possible to get the steering wheel controls to function with this radio/CD player?

Should be able to buddy with a patch lead from autoleads
Have a butchers on the autoleads website

If you have the infrared remote you shouldn't need anything extra.

Indeed,

If it's not functioning there is a good chance that the infra red flood emmiter has become dislodged out of the eyebrow over the radio

How would I find out if I have the infrared remote?

As the car is an '05, I think I read somewhere that the infrared remote was not fitted as part of the cost savings PVH made towards the end of production.
