How to remove drivers seat memory switch

How do you remove the drivers seat memory switch? How does the plastic panel on the side of the seat that holds the switch come off.

Is there non operation similar to window switches not working, just take them apart and clean the contacts?

I moved my seat back to do something now cannot move it forward.

the side panel where the switches are is held in place by 1 10mm nut at the front underside of the seat, one screw at the top back end of the plastic panel (hidden under where the backrest meets the seat base), and a second screw at the back of the seat slightly towards the underside.

Just to check, is your car an earlier model? someone may be able to confirm but I think on the earlier cars the key has to be turned in the ignition in order to move the seats as they're ignition live, whereas the later cars are permanent live? from memory when we had an early model, I think after about a minute or so of removing the key from the ignition the seat electrics would no longer be powered?

The seat switches aren't like the window switches, so cleaning them wouldn't get them working. It is possible to break the switches internally by being too aggressive with the switches, which happened to my dad on his first 75 which caused the seat to be stuck in the laying back position after transporting some long items!

If you can get underneath it to get to the seat ECU the large black box underneath unplug the connectors and then re-plug them in, the seat module is susceptible to failing, sold that many that I’ve actually run out of them

I personally would test the wires under the seat to make sure you're getting power to them, if there is enough access.

I cannot recall what car the seats came from as they are second hand but the car I have is a face lift.
I was able to move the seat back without the ignition on.

I have now found the screw at the back and bolt at the front, thank you.
I'll check the link and have a read, thanks for that too
