Default Squeaky front driver's side suspension, car feels a bit unstable

So, my car passed its MOT back in July with these advisories:

Movement in front suspension arm rear bushes under braking
Nearside Rear Suspension arm corroded but not seriously weakened (5.3.3 (b) (i))
Offside Rear Suspension arm corroded but not seriously weakened (5.3.3 (b) (i))

Few months after the MOT around october, the driver's side suspension started making squeaky noises over bumps and now feels noticeably wobbly under fairly heavy braking. The noise appeared overnight and hasn't got worse.
Nothing that i'd consider dangerous but it needs sorting before its next MOT.
Reckon it is just the bushes as the MOT says or think it's something more? I can't really check it out myself as I have no Jacks, but any clue what it could be? Hope it's not an expensive fix as I've already spent most of my student loan on minor fixes!

Have a look at the rear wheels, and see if they appear to be upright, or whether they tilt in towards the top.

The lower arms at the front, if the bushes are shot, then placing a foot on the wheel at the front, and seeing if the wheel can be pushed backwards is a good indicator of health.

Also worth borrowing a jack, lifting each front wheel in turn and checking for play in the outer ball joint of the lower arms.

These can creak when starting to fail.
