Charging problem alternator Rover 75 diesel estate
So having a fault as I set off one morning, intermittent battery light headlamps dying fault lights like a christmas tree. So i thought faulty alternator. so having read a post on this site I decided to change regulator with alt in situ. Unfortunately this did not solve the problem still no charge. Having checked fuse 14 I am a little stuck at the moment. do I need to replace the whole alternator or could it be an ecu fault

You say you changed the regulator. Did this include the brushes ???
If it did and the alternator still doesn't work then more than likely the brass slip rings have burnt away. Unfortunately this means another alternator is needed.--- |

Hello Mark and to the club.
When you place your multimeter across the battery, what's the charging voltage at the moment? Simon
