What is the screen resolution (right click your mouse on the desktop)

...and does that match a supported resolution of your monitor?

1080p through HDMI cable, not a monitor but a 22" HD TV by Logik, my old £20 graphics card ran the monitor perfect but was overheating all the time. I got the new one for free as my brother never used it was still sealed

I have purchased a new HDMI cable just in case but I can't see it being that as the games look perfect.

1080P is a resolution of 1920 x 1080 - that seems very high for a 22"

Did you confirm that by reading the desktop res?

I did yes, old card was running the same. Games also run on 1080p and run perfect no blurring or grainy text just the desktop and browser. The lower the res the worse it seems. On 720p the desktop looks too soft no sharpness at all, the icons and text are also too big on lower res for me.

Cheers

I've never had a perfect picture on any tv via HDMI above 1366x768 resolution even when the TV is a full hd tv

try set the resolution to 1366x768 and see if that improves the picture for you

did the graphics card come with any firmware? Or did the computer automatically prompt you to download from windows or manufacturer's website? If they did, go to start menu and look for the software.

If you right click on the desktop, click on properties and go to advanced, then experiment with the resolution (or click right click on desktop and click screen resolution), and perhaps the refresh rate. I am sure as mentioned before it is the resolution, and the game, is perhaps adjusting within its own settings.

I had a similar problem, running dual screens. A TV (22") and a dedicated monitor for graphics, with calibration software. My problem ultimately turned out to be a conflict in the software. To be honest I am afraid I cant remember what I did to sort it other than disable one of the programs. The Tv had a native resolution of 720, where the monitor was 1060. The graphics card program was trying to get my tv to display 1060, and windows was trying to display it at 720.

Incidentally 22" screens are available as 1080P

Will give it a try when the mrs can pull herself from the sims, weird as the quality was flawless on the old card with the same settings, I wouldn't of changed it if it hadn't started overheating.

Ati catalyst is installed for software been checking the settings all day to no avail maybe it is a conflict from windows to ati settings how do you disable the windows desktop management and run from ati CCC only?

It's just a bit hard on the eyes having the text blurry.

I cannot remember how to disable it to give you a walk through. You could try to uninstall it . Though I think by scrolling through its options, there was a tick box to 'use windows resolution settings' . Currently I am using NVIDIA Geforce, I cant even check anymore I am afraid. Sorry.
