Download speed 4.80 Mbps
Upload speed 0.49 Mbps Ping 63MS Whatever that means Bill. Had the "engineer" here for 2 hours on Tuesday after complaining that my line was faulty. They said it was my handset-goodbye. After a more forceful conversation they sent BT around and found the connection on the pole was corroded. His supervisor came around later and said there are ways of reseting the server to increase the speed if we were with BT (we are with Talk-Talk ????). He would have done it otherwise. Helped that he was Ex Telkom from CPT.

A little off this evening as I have my torrent box working away but this is mine,
http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/2907208963 I had this text in an email a couple of weeks ago Dear xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx We hope you are enjoying the benefits of your superfast broadband, but how would you like to have a free upgrade to even faster speeds up to as fast as 300Mbps, free of charge for up to6 months. We are looking for Customers to trial our new Infinity higher speed products and provided you agree to re-contract for 18 months with BT, all you need to take part is:- · Be an existing BT Infinity Customer with a Fibre optic connection to your home. · Be willing to provide feedback about the service We are trialling 2 new higher speed products, your postcode has been chosen for the 300Mbps trial as opposed to the 160Mbps. As much as their tech. is great I would NEVER return to virgin.

Hi Bill, yes I can recall those halcyon days of "dial-up" at speeds like 3kbs. praying it didn't fail before completion. JamesUK sent me DAP to avoid this. Back then we sent exe files after changing them to `axa' which were then accepted and once changed back worked. James also realised the old "ghost" programme did work in XP if you added DOS* which XP didn't use of course. *From any old previous dos based system. 98 series 2 etc. Good speeds there Bill similar to mine. Plenty fast enough for what I do. Mike.
