I hope this applies to the hundreds of truckers who sit in the Middle lane uphill on the M'Way
Mobile Phone, well yes. A big Fine is good. So many People still use their Phone whilst driving, its annoying. Gotta go work, so will respond more detailed later.........

Idiots using a phone whilst driving are a liability; usually men, driving white vans with a company logo on the side of it. Fines for hogging the centre lane. Be interesting to see how this is enforced on a busyish motorway. Fines should also be extended to the outside lane hogs as well .

That is because they are going half a mile per hour faster than the one they are overtaking.

The Police already have the powers to stop and prosecute people for these offences, under the "Due care and attention" Legislation, so not sure why they need these extra powers, apart from the extra fine of course!
All we need then, is some Traffic Police to enforce them! |

Just heard it on news.
On the spot fines for hogging and tailgating. This takes away need to go to court as the fines are on the spot. Ironically, this will make little difference as traffic cops have been cut by 50% in spending cuts. Typi.g on phone so sry if it reads bad lol

Lol yh. I loved the autobahn as they have sections of road where trucks can only use lane 1 and the drivers obey the rule. Shame we cannot implement this here.

Its a nice idea, but giving the police Drumhead powers will turn them into Drumheads. Do we trust the police to enact these powers fairly? I dont. This isnt like speeding, which is measurable, this is a matter of opinion.
OK we have the right of appeal, but what good is that when it will probably cost you more in real terms than the fine?
