According to the MOT tester site, the following.

There will be new checks on a number of items including:
  • Electronic power steering malfunction indicator lamp
  • Brake fluid warning lamp illuminated or inoperative
  • Engine mountings
  • Speedometer
These changes that are being introduced from 20 March 2013 are as a result of the European legislation but will not affect the basic cost of a test.

Reckon the Tow bar electrical test could catch people out, plenty of old unused towbars on cars?

High Intensity Bulbs?

Speedo, just a visual check or accuracy, lots of modified wheel/tyre combinations about.....

Just my thoughts

Default mot

I have just looked at the criteria for the MOT relating to doors, it states the two front doors must be able to open from the inside as well as the outside, there is nothing on there about the rear doors, my nearside passenger door wont open with the fob but can be opened from inside, but will also lock with the fob.
Would this be a failure??

Opening of the doors relates to the actual door handles. You have to be able to open the doors from inside and outside using the handles.

Whether they lock/unlock is irrelevant.

Well!! if the three other doors will unlock with the fob then it would be obvious the other door wont open with the outside handle Innit!!!
