Thanks for that warning Jeff
All TV receiving apparatus were switched off and isolated at the mains.

It looks like they have got off that island, yet again

Maybe because of the very prominent Avis Branding in the segment!

Have to say though, very poor indeed!

Also the bit where they get so called "Celebrities " to try and wreck a Brand New Astra!

Hope it improves, as last night's was dire!

I have to agree, rather "toe curling", it's about time some of the inevitable format was altered.

Mind you the first episode of each new series of Top Gear has tended to be rather daft.......

Was a poor episode, even though I would defend top gear most of the time,

When they dragged Jimmy Carr out again for the new car, bit samey to say the least,

I have never understood why the presenters don't set a time in the reasonably priced car when they get a new one, seems odd to me, surely that would be a better introduction to the car, Jeremy, James, Richard and the stig set the opening times...

Jeremy did a lap in the first RPC, but that was the only time as far as I could remember.

The race was not very interesting and it was mildly amusing the hire car bit, although clearly an advert (But presumably unpaid)

Hope rest of series picks up, some very good episodes from last series!

Poor choice of engine/model. should have opted for the 1.3 Diesel at pretty much the same price, Lower BHP and 0-60 but packing more torque.

as for the Astra Being boring I suggest you have a ride in a 300bhp VXR with the danger button pressed OFC. If that doesn't shake off the 'boring' cobwebs, perhaps courtneys 560bhp beastie may do the job....assuming you can stomach the dashboard plastics.
