If the paint is prepped well a cheapo product will still look really nice, just not for very long, at all. Normally one wash.

Prepped?
I was planning to wash with APC (dont know which. maybe you could recommend one) followed by T-cut (would prefer clay but money is tight) then my 99p Wash and Wax, then the Spray'n'Shine.
Its has to be better than washing with washing up liquid which is what i have always done.

Any APC will do, cheaper the better.

T-Cut is horrible to use but it will do the job OK. Just do it out of the sun and wipe off panel by panel or it sticks like glue. It might be worth washing with APC after as well to remove T-Cut residue.

Th cheap wax products will look ok, but wont last very long, thats their biggest problem. Generally they last one wash, but as long as you re-apply I suppose it doesn't matter.

If your budget is as really tight as it appears get yourself some star drops from asda/Tesco. Its great as an APC and you will get change from a quid.

Use a dilution of 10:1 for paint and 4:1 for wheels and tyres.

Don't let it dry though it does leave watermarks. do a panel at a time and dry off.

The best results you will get from the budget products you have would come from:

Hose down / rinse
APC wash
Quick Rinse
T Cut
APC wash rinse and dry, panel by panel
cheapo wash + wax
spray & shine

PLEASE use the two bucket wash method and a wash mitt, leave the sponge for the bath. Dry with Microfibre cloths.

got myself a bottle of Tesco Daisy. Smells nice too.

I have no illusions about my cheap stuff coming up a nice as "our mans" black bonnet but it will be miles better than the "wash with fairy" routine i have been following.

Ill post some before and afters when i get round to it.

This is why I love black cars, when polished they look stunning, mirror finish on that bonnet. Well done... a car to make the rest of us get off our butts and go make an effort to clean ours
