Default Parallel port to USB

I have an old but perfectly good HP Laserjet printer but, like many modern laptops, my laptop doesn't have a parallel port. Anybody know if one of those parallel to USB cables would work or would I be wasting my money

Should work fine Steve - might be better to get one of the slightly more costly ones rather than some of the £2 variety perhaps
I used one at work to connect modern PCs to an ancient, Epson oversize A3 colour printer and it worked no problem.

Thanks Rod, I'll have a look for one. I have some documents to print, resurrecting the laser printer would be better than eating ink cartridges.

I've used them a few times and find that they work quite well.

Never bought a cheap one, so can't say what they are like though.

You would still need driver for it though.. wouldn't you?

And if you are running Windows 10 , it possibly wont communicate with the printer.

That's why I still use Windows 7 - So much more user friendly.

Still if you have the HD space, dual boot is a possibility.
