Certainly on my car, if you lock with the remote, then try to unlock by sticking the key in the door, the alarm goes off and it immobilises. Done it absent-mindedly several times!

They MAKE you give them the key, the bar stewards.

As well as unlocking the door, using the key in the door should also operate the switch in the lock which disables the alarm.

It shouldn't matter if you use the remote to lock the car and the key to open it (or the other way round). The main difference is that the remote operates the superlocking (and the interior sensor if fitted), using the key does not.

Well I've never bothered with immobilizing the car but I always take a picture of the mileage last thing before I get out, don't mind then moving it in the car park as long as they don't go out in a jolly while I'm away, to be honest I only use one of these car parks on my annual jolly to America and on my return it's always been parked close to the exit ☺
