75 CDTi Tourer conn 2004 full size spare wheel?
Apologies for a really daft post but I am wondering if I can fit a full size wheel instead of the spacesaver? I only have the "polystrene" toolkit insert and wonder if that would still fit.
More importantly, ignoring aesthetics, would any 16" alloy wheel do or would I need to get the 7 spoke straights to match what's on? I guess the weights may differ. Or even a steel wheel! Planning to sell off the Alhambra and as I don't do the mileage I used to, make the 75 my daily. But I do some long trips and you never know........... Hi, I have a 2003 mk1 Tourer and a 2004 Mk2 tourer and both boots are same size, able to take a full size wheel plus tools under the floor. mk1 has 16in and mk2 has 17in wheels.

you can also get a new polystyrene surround to take the tool kit but you need to remove the existing polystyrene surround. This is a bit of a faff but well worth doing.
Also there is a new insert for the wheel that can be used for storage and a lid to go over the top, sometimes called a pizza lid. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ROVER-75-...AAAOSwYIxdo2aQ https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-E46-R...QAAOSwKOdeGcux macafee2 Last edited by macafee2; 19th January 2020 at 20:35.. |

Note you cannot fit an 18" wheel in the spare wheel well of a tourer if it has the early extra tool tray and/or lid
Without the tray it fits nicely. Not sure if the same applies with the 17" wheels will have to try when I get time. I know the 15 and 16" wheels fit a treat with the tray fitted. Russ

Thanks a lot to everyone, i'll keep an eye on Members spares for sale etc. I;ve got the 16" wheels so look like it's a go-er.
I've been caught out a couple of times with spacesavers and having to limp to a Kwik fit or similar and naughty word (self inserted) a journey. May not fit a top tyre but at leaast could do the swap and get the damaged one done at destination. Thanks a lot to all. JohnnyBG |

I have a 16" wheel in my Tourer with all the tools in exactly as was with the space saver wheel. There's a small amount of space left so I assume that a 17" will fit as well.

I've got an 18 inch spare in a ZT-T with the tray and surround tool tray, floor is very slightly raised but shuts no problem.
