Hoisted by Our Own Petard!
I have often mused on the amount of junk we are introducing to space, especially that which we have deposited around our planet. It may be the thing that actually prevents the exploration of space that exists beyond Earth orbit. This BBC news item adds to my fear.

And I thought the M25 was bad.
Pity there is not a way of rounding up all the debris and either destroying them in space or bringing it back to be recycled.

That example of a growing density of material is totally encircling Earth and acting as a deflection radiator reflecting heat back to us. It is also alarming because it must be preventing heat from escaping into outer space. Presumably it's not in geostatic orbit but does in fact form a 'shell'.
I wonder if the global warming lobby might take a different view of what they preach is the cause?
