Default Heater cold passenger side

Heater seems to be blowing cold on passenger-side, I suppose this is a blocked matrix. What is the best way to tackle this lads?

In the first instance a radflush or similar, reverse flush afterwards via the heater pipes to and from the block. If that fails, it's a replacement heater matrix I'm afraid!

If you can't flush them out, they are usually so badly blocked that they have to be replaced.

How easy/hard is it to changed the heater matrix?

It is easier to get to the two hoses at the bulkhead, or do I go from under the dash?

Thanks fellas.

Easiest from under the car Wes, remove the hose from the rear bank, and the other from near the battery tray side.

Getting the hoses off in the bulkhead is a pig, plus you will then fill the plenums with all the crud when you flush.

I did a matrix in 20 mins the other week, I was very very lucky, its normally an hour, getting the clips on is a tricky job.

On the 1.8's it's easy to get to the hoses at the back of the engine to disconnect and flush in situ, also a simple process to remove the heater matrix from the drivers footwell can be an absolute pain to refit, ive done it a few times and only once had to cut the flange and use some tubing.

Thanks Andy, that sounds a pig of a job... It can stay blocked, I've had enough of cars.
