Default Oh Dear! - Jeremy Corbyn caught telling porkies

http://metro.co.uk/2016/08/23/virgin...d-day-6086007/

The video seems quite clear.

Shame - whilst i thought Corbyn a very bad choice indeed for leader of her Majesties Opposition - I always respected him for his honesty.

EDIT!

Just read the comments on the Metro article - They really are truly excellent!!

Actually, I can't see Corbyn allowing himself to be drawn into something so obvious as this. Suspect there's more to it than at first meets the eye. Even so, to sit on the floor...! Can you imagine any other political leader of any party ever allowing himself to be seen doing this? Whatever his principles are, he is not stupid.

What an incredibly stupid thing to be caught doing. If you want your picture taken sitting on the floor...there are plenty trains around where you woukd have to. To organise this when there were seats on a train run by Virgin Trains ...

There are some fights to pick life .... Lies about Virgin Trains. ..is not one!

From what I read, any empty seats he passed were either reserved or had people's bags on them. So the headline could have been "Labour leader arrogantly DUMPED my bag from my seat", says irate rail passenger.

More candyfloss reportage.

Actually I can ........

Corbyn wants to re-nationalise the Railways and I think it was felt that this was a good chance to make some footage that shows what many commuters put uo with on a daily basis.

Unfortunately the evidence from the cctv footage shows that what Corbyn did on the day was a stunt.

Love Owen Smiths comment:-

NEWS FLASH!

Virgin Trains have just announced that extra Fire Extinguishers will be allocated to any Train that Jeremy Corbyn travels on due to the increased fire risk of Jeremy Corbyns pants

You politely ask people to move bags & coats. And seats are often only reserved for certain parts of a journey, i:e York to Newcastle. So from London to York the seat is anybodys. You have to check the reservation cards to see.
And who sits on the floor outside the toilet? Only a badly advised politician trying to make a point, I would suggest.

Red face

Maybe he enjoys sitting in the vestibule; y'know; meet and greet the people! There's far worse going on than this. This is trivial.

I agree but they make themselves such easy targets.

If I was Virgin/Branson, I'd be miffed about one of my trains being used for an inaccurate blurb about the conditions on it too. Corbyn's spent a lifetime on the back benches & is obviously ill-equipped for the front line, or gives a very good impression of being that way.

Richard Branson and others are probably more miffed about JC's desire to see re-nationalisation of the railways.

Of course they are. And a seasoned politician would have maybe not set themselves up for a fall quite so beautifully.

Like a fish in a barrel.
