Yes agree.
It's actually quicker to hard wire the original board from contacts to bulb holder. Also tiny m3 bolts or new rivets are required to secure new PCB onto white plastic plinth which are not supplied with PCB

This browser extension gets round it (works for Chrome, not IE) - https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...bifiaedg?hl=en
Mind you, the better way is for everybody to stop using Photobucket to store images. That'll teach 'em. Last edited by Simon W; 10th April 2018 at 13:54.. |

TC - is there a reason you didn't use wider 'Flexistrip' instead of two 1/4" strips? I'm thinking of using this stuff (12mm wide, 2.5mm thick) - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BUTYL-GLA...-/222432763538 Or even this stuff (20mm wide, 1.5mm thick) - eBay link - too wide perhaps (and/or too thin perhaps)? I'm not sure whether you covered the PCB with the Flexistrip or cut round it - can't quite see from pic 18 'cos the backing paper is still on. Last edited by Simon W; 10th April 2018 at 14:29.. |

I had to do mine last summer. Rover54 very kindly helped by swapping a reconditioned PCB from one of his donor 75’s, then he repaired the non functioning one which I am keeping as a spare.

I've revamped several HowTos using a new image host, but none have been copied over the ramsomed versions, again I have tried. TC |

Yes that is the moderators task, as only they can edit the how to section, I would have thought it would have been a good idea to let the original poster access to edit there own how to's

I've just whipped off the bulb cover, and I can see that the plastic where the terminal for the bulb comes out of the unit is dark as if it's been slowly festering ( burning, smouldering ) away.
So, I'll have to see how bad it all is when I've got it in bits this weekend.

I resorted to making a separate thread that only contains T-Cut HowTos recovered from the Photobucket ransom. Now, at least I can post links to a fixed copy rather than to the corrupted HowTo forum.. TC Last edited by T-Cut; 22nd January 2020 at 19:03.. |
