A friend of mine has a Volvo S40 with the same sort of plastic lenses. She swears by a coat of hairspray after every wash. I can vouch for the effect. The car's on an 02 plate and the lights look like new.

I used a Sealey kit last year (bought off the internet, great comprehensive kit at a very reasonable price) which included a sachet of special gloop which had to be applied with a spong following the final grind/polish and wash-off of my Mk2 Zenon lens covers.
I don't agree with TCut in post #7 because I think we've now gone about 7/8 months and the lens' are still in really good condition so it does work.
I've read elsewhere on here about one member who almost ended it all when not observing the safety (and somewhat exacting) application instructions for a two-part sealant he used (quite expensive too) so the Sealey gloop appears to be a good option (......so far)

Hi John.
I used the same product nearly 12 months ago and they are as clear now as when I first did them, the sticky gloop was also used
