I'm 27 and own 2 mg's and 3 75's, work colleagues don't believe me when I tell them what I paid for them astounding value for money, especially when I arrive in the yellow zt a real head turner, sure family members call them grandad cars but who cares its all friendly banter

I've a ZT, so it's called a rover in a tracksuit.

Plenty of other cars get the same stick, nissan micra, honda hazz. When some of the young lads drive them, it's oh borrowed your grandads car again?

We'll I think anyone who drives an MG-Rover has a healthy independent streak. If I was concerned about fitting in with everyone around it would be something German (including Ford). But do expect some stick from the self-righteous, who will try to mock and probably only tell you half the story about their 'excellent' choice of car...

Thanks tantallon, insurance for the first year is about £2000 for 5000 miles, but i'm in a high insurance postcode. As extortionate as it sounds, it's not too much more than something like a vauxhall corsa. Luckily insurance will be about £1400 at renewal.

bl52krz - Everyone that's been in it can't believe the value for money I got with it, and when we went on a bit of a roadtrip with two cars everyone wanted to be in mine! To answer your other question, it's the 2.0 Diesel CDTi, with only about 71,000 miles on the clock right now.

A friend of mine says my ZT is an old mans car, I slowed down when driving past a large retirement home .... Not a single 75 or ZT to be seen , but plenty of fiesta's which she drives ..... Think that answers the question

I think the occupants of the home would have been to young for these cars.

They can call mine an old man's car as much as they like, being a 260 I'd leave 99% of them for dead at the lights.

Good point. Looking around my family and friends the Honda Jazz seems to be the old persons car of choice...
