If you paid the £2.09 for duty & tax insurance you will not pay any fee's, this was listed on LITB website. LITB are shipping these units local standard 3-5 business days using their European warehouse, sounds like DHL are trying it on, unless the £20 is a handling fee, I would certainly question it.

If DHL stand by their fee, it will be worth uploading the invoice to LITB, you only need to open a ticket and upload proof. The last time I done this LITB refunded me my fee's plus issued a £10 goodwill voucher.

I also paid the £2.09 for duty & tax so shouldn't be a problem getting the charge paid back if needs be.

What does the DHL invoice say?

Ref: fitting DD, this thread may help you HERE...

Its pretty much the same as fitting any car stereo John, positive, ground, speakers +/- etc... These cars wiring over complicates things a little, SWC looks complicated, but it really isn't, normally just two wires.

Hi John, apparently mine is being delivered by yodel so I don't expect it for at least another week but nothing as of yet about having to pay any fees.

It doesn't look like you have paid any customs or excise duty fee's, just VAT, but what the hell is a £10.94 'Advance Payment'

Is the 10.94 a 'handling' fee? Where the courier pay the vat no your behalf charging you for the pleasure.

It's the vat charge that gets me though. 20 % of 44.55 is less than 9 pounds.

But you are lucky that was the only charge. There is another potential charge that can be levied. I forget the name, however it can be added to items that are available already in the UK. (I believe for car parts this was around 5 % of the cost).

Has litb changed how they operate the charges? It used to be, if you were hit with duty and charges, and you ticked the box, you would pay the charges, submit a copy of the invoice for them, and litb would refund the cost.

Hi Alan, LITB still offer duty and tax insurance for a small fee, you can claim any fee's back from LITB without quibble.

In this instance the goods are sent from LITB European warehouse, there is no duty/tax to pay, this was stated in the products paid under shipping details. I guess VAT is still applicable and DHL are known to bill customers without fail, I've received goods via Yodel and Royal Mail in the past without any fee's, but have been stung by DHL myself...

Mine arrived yesterday and with the arrival of the mg 7 fascia coming today got it installed, pretty simple just plug and play except for the steering wheel controls which need cutting and joining onto the loom of the radio,

can't complain really for £44 but do have static through the speakers at low sound levels which really grinds on me and need to find a sd card with a windows GPS app on it
