Default What this forum meant to Bob (JamesUK)

Your forum gave Bob a lot of joy, many giggles and occasionally a little frustration, but, it was his lifeline when he couldn't go out because he wasn't well. Thank you all for your lovely thoughts, they are sincerely appreciated by me and I am sure by Mike, his brother, too.
We have a plaque in our garden that I bought for Bob, it reads ........

'Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain'.
It is something that Bob believed and I think it's what made him such fun. When he looked at it he said 'keep dancing'

Paul asked me to give details of where and when Bob's funeral was, I will have to come back to you with the date because the coroner is involved and the date I had arranged may not apply, I will put details up as soon as I know for sure. What I do know is that we have requested no flowers but if anyone wants to make a donation the money will go to the Stroke Association and should be sent to F. Massey & Son Ltd Funeral Directors, 49 Mottram Road, Hyde, Cheshire. SK14 2NN and marked 'regarding the funeral of Mr. W.R.Lanahan known as Bob'.

I will be in touch when I have more details, but again, thank you.
Jean

Very sorry to read this today. He was a lovely man - I had the pleasure to meet him first time when I upgraded the radio/cassette in my car. I put radio in the For Sale section of the forum, and he came the very next day and we had a nice chat and drink in front of my home. My condolences to all the family.

I've been meaning to write about this but I was lost for words.

I couldn't believe it myself.

Bob was a great laugh when I did my caption photo of silly things James would be right on que straight away and made many of us laughed.

Even after that we would private message each other and still carry on the banter and giggles, His humour was brilliant.

I never met James myself I wish I did.

Looking what everyone wrote he sure was passionate about the cars and too the club too.

I'm sure that all of us will carry on his legacy and his humour too.
Even tho I never Bob myself he did make me feel part of the team and welcome as well.

My thoughts and condolences to Bob's family and friends.

When its my time to go I'll buy you a few pints on the house and also a glass of Vat 69 as well, I'll tell you all the funny stories that I've been up to over the years.

RIP Bob.

The funniest line Bob came out with for me was when folk were boasting of their new pre project drive or Cowley head rests with the embossed Rover logo on...............

He always said they would come out easily with a good flat iron !!

Default Re; JamesUK ... Bob.

Hi again all,
Firstly our sincere thanks for the wonderful comments and heart warming wishes from the club members. It does help make a difficult time more bearable. May I also thank those PM's from his mates, too many to respond to but truly appreciated. Jean and Bob's sons Marc, Nicky and Simon were all `uplifted' by this clubs responses. Take care all and again thanks a million.
Mike. aka Scribbler.

*I miss my 75.
