whoa before condemning the car, these figures, are they brim to brim, or via readings using the IPK. As Colin says, they are known to lie. My own IPK states 34.6 most months, but when calculated using brim to brim, works out around the 40 mark.

As I have already said that there is no need to put up with an inaccurate IPK when you can easily put in a correction factor so that it displays the actual real consumption.

Gets mentioned every now and again on the forum Col, for example Post #33 here: http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...=214522&page=4 Could be due to other things of course that aren't anything to do with the later cars, but maybe the deletion of the fuel burning heater affects autos more than manuals? One of the conditions for the gearbox locking up is the ATF having to warm up, and that is directly related to engine coolant temperature via the auto trans heat exchanger, so possible that a longer warm up time may affect the autobox efficiency? |

I recently had to do a round trip to Edinburgh. Took the opportunity to do a brim to brim. 47.1 MPG

Many thanks for your replies and suggestions. I have only had this car for 3 weeks, I will get it serviced in a day or two to give it every chance.
I have not done a brim to brim check on consumption, but by looking at the dash read out and the times I am pulling into filling stations I know I am using vastly more fuel. I have driven automatics for about 25 years and I am fairly light footed most of the time. I will report back after the 75 has been serviced, i will be interested in what the garage has to say. Thanks to all, Terry |

I use the range more as a guide, with my brim to brim commute over a month yielding normally around 450-480 per tank (estimated remainder added to distance travelled - when the light first comes on)

Generally there is no difference between the CDT and the cars Labeled CDTi. anyone can buy a CDTI badge innit....
My own car has gone from a 116 to a 160 remap during my ownership, and the MPG hasn't altered worth mentioning, it is still 30 ish in built up areas, and mid fourties on motorways.. .. I suggest you have a problem on your latest car..... ... |

Haing just been checking the consumption of the fairly recently acquired 2002 Classic CDT auto it would appeart hat we are getting an avrage of 46 mpg and we know that the auto box could do with a service. Now we have electrics hooked up for the tow bar that consumption will drop some as she will be doing some towing now.
