When I bought my saloon from a friend I asked him after a few weeks did cruise work when you owned it? he replied that he did not know it had it even so it took me four years and reading the handbook on how to operate it
I use it a lot, set my speed dinger at 30mph and as soon as it dings the warning click the set button, it usually is bang on 30mph for the digi readout and 32 for the speedo. If it sets at 29mph just click the set switch again to bring it up to 30. Ken. |

I've found that 75s without working air-con are horrible things to travel in. It seems like the car was designed in such a way that opening a window would only make more noise, not increase the flow of air into the car.

One of my friends lives in Derby and he never uses the aircon in his car either, just puts the windows down instead. I reckon it must be a Northern thing because everyone I know down here in the South West uses theirs including me. As for the wood that's an old trick, shocks some on here but I have actually seen it done!

Lol You and me both Ian. I've had 40+ vehicles over the years, many with cruise control and AC, but! I have never used either option. SWMBO now Galaxy has cruise control and aircon, and we never use either. Partly the reason is... I'm not a fan of cruise control, and the AC makes you feel ill. I only ever use mu CC on quiet motorways ( getting harder to find I know) but I just love it.
I will often purposely leave home early just to have the road to myself so that I can use it and enjoy. Nothing worse than using cruise and having to keep turning it on and off to cope with the traffic.

I would love cruise control on my 75. All the lorries have it now & I turn it on as soon as possible. With those you can use the buttons to vary the speed up & down & with the advent of auto boxes in just about every lorry now, you can change gear in manual mode & the cruise just picks up again where it left off.
