I must admit, I've been almost at the point of packing it in this year with the grief I've had with the car. I've made many good friends through this and other clubs over the last 30+ years and I'd count you and Anne-Marie amongst the best.

Everything comes to a natural end and health and family have to come first. I took a year off from cars a while back as it was just taking over my life. Perhaps you'll feel differently in the future; I know you won't be a stranger, and you're always welcome in sunny Kilcreggan. If you ever need the car done all you have to do is call.

See you soon,

Tim
always enjoy meeting you and Elsa Tim .

Your a lovely genuine couple.

I consider you firm friends .

I hope you can the old girl running again..

Cheers Tim.

never say never george, make a decision per event and go when you want, not cos you feel obliged. The social aspect has always mattered more to me but having kids and other events has put paid to that. Hopefully see you at Gretna!

I see your point Anna and the wife is now working on me to keep Gretna in the calander.
That would leave me with our Grantown on Spey. MOTORMANIA WEEKEND and our monthly South Queensferry meets.

You know that makes sense George, your car doesn't have to be immaculate to attend the meets. It's more the sociable chatting that we attend for anyway I only show the under bonnet parts purely for shock value, nobody expects Ann summers lingerie on a Rover 75

The problem for me Tony is being invited to Vintage events gives me huge pleasure.
Winning best club stand against over 25 clubs at a huge Perthshire meet two years ago showed the real interest in our cars .

Try as i may i just cant keep my car to that high standard as it is my daily and is parked in the street.
Sadly i will have to admit defeat trying to keep it smart.

Cool

I've cut back on shows and meets as well.

I've seen lots of changes at shows and meets. People drift away for different reasons. Hopefully the youthful members will keep the marque going.

So I can see your point George. I'll see you at Gretna and at Granton on Spey.

Hi.
To keep a car that's nearly 16 years old with no garage and on a limited budget is a hard task. You'll get as many nice comments about a car that is run every day and given a regular wash and clean out than the car that only comes out on a sunny day.
The workhorses actually show up how well a car was built initially.
A Vauxhall Victor "F" will last if it was never exposed to rain and moisture but how many lasted 3 years in our winters!
Your tourer will always get a look at the meets George, I bet you mine has had a harder life than yours, I'm sure it was used to plough fields at one time!
