Hopefully you can read the image - if you're sad like me and have nowt better to do on a wet Saturday afternoon

I fill up every other month so getting 34mpg is no big issue for me.

I think the thing that impressed me was the economy whilst towing - 35 odd mpg with 1400kgs on the back is pretty good going - especially when some of those returns included journeys such as the A9 up the centre of Scotland - not exactly dead flat, easy cruising roads.
I think my longest gap between fill ups was 16th December to 20th March

We were on holiday this week, total mileage was about 500 miles - cost of diesel was about £50 (and that was Shell Nitro)........ no issues whatsoever so it will do for me

160map, not hanging about on motorways or B roads etc etc

IPK thing still says 31mpg

Very well maintained CDT Tourer Auto, best ever on a run 45mpg, normal average with mix of short/ medium journeys but no commuting 35mpg.

Auto as well and I can get it to show (and stay at) about 45/46mpg if I set it as I join a motorway but as with you it's usually about 35mpg. I had a car that claimed to do over 50mpg all the time but I really don't notice filling up any more often so who cares really

>>>Average around town is mid-low 40's although in summer this did go up to 46.3<<<

My auto wont go into 4th gear at 30 mph, in fact it struggles to change up to 3rd at that speed. Ipso Facto my mpg is limited to about 30 mpg under those conditions.

Monitoring of fuel consumption is a good way to spot underlying issues which can be sorted out before a bigger problem occurs.
My records date from purchase date 29/11/03 to last Friday evening in Calais.
Over that period and 111860 miles I have averaged 42.47 mpg. the car is a ZTT 2.0 CDTi manual with the factory upgrade to 131 bhp.
At present the car does 1500 miles every 3 months over a two week period in France and the rest is weekend use locally. At present running cool which I think is a failed thermostat to be attended to. I find weight, rooftop items and high cruising speed all affect consumption markedly as one would expect.
Everybodys driving style is different which reflects in varied consumption levels, I look slightly askance at claims of 50 mpg plus.

I've had my zt-t cdti 160 egr bypass new intercooler hose and inline stat for comming up to 14 months. Not done much motorway but avg 42- 45mpg. Main use is urban and Yorks country roads. Mainly urban winter 27-28 mpg now the weather is better this is 36 mpg. Country roads 42-47 with one peak at 49.5 so nearly there.

My average for urban/country which is the main usage is 38-43. I don't hang around and use the upgrade power on our Yorkshire hills and I am pretty happy with the consumption. These figures are all from the trip computer which I use because when I have checked brim to brim the results have always been better by 2 mpg than that shown by the computer. So using that as a basis the best computer figure of 49.5 could really have beaten the magic 50 mpg.
