Used to be 32 miles each way, 35 minutes each way side roads and motorway, got in at 7.00 or thereabouts and left at 15.00. Now its to the end of the drive, having retired a few years ago.

Luckily I only go into the office 1 or 2 days per week - it's a 130 mile round trip.

About 8 years ago I took the decision to move closer to work, all was well for a couple of years and I walked nearly every day.

Then they dropped the bombshell that they were selling our current site and we were moving in with a sister company in Cambridge.

So my commute is from Kent to Cambridge

Sometimes it's as little as ten miles each day, but is constantly varying.

I have be known to commute to Cardiff on occasion from Newcastle, and Athlone in Ireland.

But probably somewhere between five and twelve hundred miles per week

13 miles to get to work and 13 miles back. Takes 17 minutes to get to work, 2 minutes to get home!

Used to be 11 miles each way through nice quiet country roads ... although at 6 in the morning most places are quiet. Now I take a detour to avoid the 13 speed humps that eventually killed my NSF coil spring and I have to do 12 miles each way. The coming and going is better than the working!

The office is 20 miles away but I can log on from home and work from here.

Modern technology is truly wonderful from my viewpoint.

So my "commute" most mornings involves walking boots for taking the dogs out first thing.

When i then do have to travel I can choose the time of day so as to avoid peak times.

I really do appreciate how lucky I am.

Work is 20 miles each way but I only do this on a Monday morning and either Friday or Saturday when I finish.
The days in between the commute is from one side of the cab to the other.

Cool

The office is 5yds from the kitchen and the bedroom is next door. Takes me about 15 minutes to get to the keyboard via the bathroom then onto the kitchen for a takeaway breakfast. No traffic. And I get to do flexi hours.

15 miles each way, about 45 mins for each. Thats 90 minutes a day in perfect comfort, perfect temperature and perfect driving experience every day. Almost wants me to work further away the drive is that good in my Connie SE. Bliss!
