Default Engine Check Light

Hi i could do with some more advice about my cdti, after a 250 mile trip on the motorways as i was pulling off the motorway onto the slip road when my engine check light came on & the accelerater wouldnt work just as the car came to a standstill the warning light dissapered & the accelerater worked ?. I have done 100 miles since then with no problem but i am concerned that next time i could be stuck. I have checked some threads in the forum but cant find a instance off the check engine warning light coming on & a total loss of the accelerater. Has anybody had a similar experience Paul

You really need it going on a T4 to see what error codes are stored to cause it to Trigger.
The MAF doesn't normally cause the Car to cut out.
Being a Diesel there is two MIL lights, one with an "!" (exclamation mark) in middle of engine symbol and one without the said "!" symbol.
Did you notice which one displayed?

I didnt notice which symbol was displayed the car didnt cut out it drew to a halt due to the slip road being uphill as soon as the car came to a halt the light dissapered & the accelerater worked again. Thanks for the advice i will have to get it on a T4. Paul
