my friend bought a 75 cdt with exactly this fault as well as another few little elec issues. IS HAS THE BOOT BEEN WET??
following advice from Lovel {a member from aberdeen} I cleaned the multi point earth fixings in boot{one each side behind carpeting} and hey presto everything onthe car came to life and works perfectly. followed by a complete strip out all carpets ect to dry interior. also seal the leaks. to this day the car is dry smells clean now. happy days

If the indicators work but not the repeaters, it won't be a stalk switch problem, often a problem with the K-Bus, usual culprits are faulty PCB in the fuel burning heater (if you have one), water in the spare wheel well if you have navigation systems, or water in the plenum chamber.
