Default Regional meetings.

Having just read the post about the regional secretary being responsible for the whole of the Northern region of the country, I think its important, and also only fair, that us members from the North EAST,should do our best to try and attend meetings in the North WEST, ie Cumbria , if possible. I have discussed this with another local member, who was first to make the point that there appears to be more members on the eastern side of the region,eg Tyneside, Co Durham, Northumberland etc, than in the Cumbria area.( If I'm wrong please correct me)
It should not be that because members such as Bluejon ,live out of the locality,we "easterners" do not attend local meets in his area. I have changed plans for this weekend in order to attend the Cumbrian Rover rally,1) because I want to go anyway, and 2) to pledge support for John and the other Cumbrian members. Looking on the thread about this event, there are only 2 of us from the North East going at the minute, whereas the last two local meets in Hartlepool and Durham have attracted up to 15 members.

Please note this posting is not intended to have a dig ,or complaint at anyone,or cause upset,if it does then I apologise as that is not the intention

Default Regional Meets

Richard

Agree with you, but this week, I am going to another show, which I booked into a couple of months ago, organised by MG Northumbria. Otherwise I would have attended this one, and hopefully completed against Ronnie, but suspect he would have won, as his car is now looking fantastic, so is Dave Stocks car. It will be hard to choose between them. If I did attend, I would most probably have to take the MGF to stand any chance of winning a prize !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope those that do attend have a good weekend, and enjoy the event,

Stuart

I completely agree with you Richard, and if I can be there I will be, and for precisely the reasons you state, however, for me personally on this occasion it is difficult to commit and attend.

There is still a chance I may sign up at the eleventh hour, but at this point, I will have to give it a miss, although I have commited to the Gretna Meet.

I hope everyone who does attend has a great time, and I may, or may not, see you there.

I have attended meets in YORK twice and umpteen meets here in scotland , we also have a lot of MINI meets up here and it,s a great way to get to know other members .

I think attending local meets is a must if you want to truly contribute here but in saying that that is only my opinion , some folk on here help members fix their cars and never attend any meets .

Each to his own i suppose .
