1.8t mpg??
I put £20 in numerous days ago (needle was very low), and just take the boy back and to to school and a few short trips. Reset the trip and its showing 55 miles and well into the empty zone.
Something wrong here surely? |

Hi I thought my mpg was dropping too. Usually get 36 mpg from 1.8 non turbo. Then I noticed brakes were binding - car not rolling freely when on gentle slope. I checked hubs and nearside front disc very hot - be careful when checking easy to burn fingers! See other post today for what happened next.

Your gauge and display state what is left via live data calculations based on driving style as well as what is left in the tank. Brim the tank, and top up a few times to get an idea of how the mpg is doing. Sticking 20 quid in wont do it. Sent from my SM-A600FN using Tapatalk

They aren't as economical as they should be in my experience. Even when I do a long run (300 miles at 65mph) it only averages 30mpg ish. My 17 year old 3L diesel 4x4 gets better economy in general.
I would rather run a v6 but mine was very cheap and I like the 1.8t. It was always going to end up as spares for my other car if anything happened anyway.

The trip computer on my 1.8T auto shows a consistent 29.7mpg which I've calculated as accurate. I drive a fair bit of urban and some longer A-road trips. She's a thirsty car but balanced against the car's performance, weight and age it's not bad.
