Default Vibration over 60 mph

Having had the lower engine mounting replaced recently I was wondering if anyone had any other ideas of why I get "all car" vibrations above 60 mph. It's not that severe, but is detectable by the rear view mirror, which makes following cars all blurry! When I had these symptoms many years ago with a Ford Capri, it was the prop shaft. I'm beginning to think it could be the rear wheels that may be out of balance and am considering having this done before anything else.

Sounds like a wheel/tyre issue.

Possibly a wheel out of balance. Get them checked.

Default Tyres

Certainly get your tyres checked. I had the same symptoms on my old RR that I had put a set of BFG Long Trail tyres - these did sterling service and were a very good tyre - but the side walls started to go before the tread was anywhere near the limit. I was shocked to find I was driving on tyres that had bulges and distortions.

This may not by your issue - but it is one that should be eliminated ASAP for obvious safety reasons.

May of course be something as straight forward as a lost wheel weight..

Or even mud in the rim from driving onto a soft verge. Tyres can go out of balance for a variety of reasons over their lifetime -worth getting them checked/rebalanced, as they will wear your shockers and suspension joints, as well as making your car unpleasant to drive.

Happened to me a couple of years ago, vibration between 60 and 70.Turned out two of the bolts holding the drive shaft had sheared and the third was loose.
