diesel leak
Further to my earlier post. I removed the under-tray and its looking increasingly like the fuel pump that's leaking. It ties in with my reduction in mpg over the last 6-9 months. I monitor my mpg and this has been slowly decreasing. Best buys for correct fuel pump please, or cure?

I presumed underbonnet pump.. If its the HP pump, then a rebuild kit will sort it.

Best to check all fuel hose connections- wipe all dry with kitchen paper or similar and wrap around joints/clips. This will show leaks. I had the hose detach from the high pressure pump due to a damaged clip.

Probably the pump
Having just refurbed my own pump, if your handy with the spanners just get the Bosch cp1 o ring kit and pump removal tool. Never done one in my life and mines now bone dry. Not as daunting as it first sounds. Obviously that's if all the pipes are sound and the leakoff pipe ain't perished.
As your only in Leeds I can lend you the removal tool and also help you if need be as only in burnley. Last edited by simondhopkins; 11th October 2018 at 15:25.. |
