Default Contempory SE?

Found this odd Rover in Ellesmere port. Claims to have 12 months MOT but has what looks like a bald tyre O/S/F. Claims to be immaculate inside and out but has a great big scuff on the O/S/F. Someone has added a real wood dash and gear change position but oddest of all, apart from the full service history since 2010, is that unless my old rheumy eyes deceive me has leather seats in the rear and alcantara seats in the front.

PS sorry for all the Autotrader links and as soon as my B-i-law finds a car it will cease, honest, as I will be able to stop looking!

Doesn't look like a real wood dash to me, however it certainly isn't this either.

Also 2.3k for a car with a scuffed bumper and an err on the display is too much for me.

The seats are ZT Monaco's. A Contemporary, especially an SE, would have had the full sports leather seats with heating and electric adjustment.

Thought it looked dodgy. I did notice the err on the display. Was looking at a car in Luton, copperleaf with and damaged sill and bumper and since my brother in law showed interest (till he saw the sill) it has been MOT'd and the price has gone up by nearly £200. Must have failed on something.

Ah! So this immaculate car, with FSH, he was going to sell us which is cat C had the following faults, to be fair though he was going to MOT it.

Fail

Reason(s) for failure

  • Parking brake lever has no reserve travel (3.1.6b)
  • Rear Registration plate lamp not working (1.1.C.1d)
  • Offside Front Anti-roll bar linkage ball joint dust cover excessively deteriorated so that it no longer prevents the ingress of dirt (2.4.G.2)
  • Front Inner Tyre tread depth below requirements of 1.6mm both (4.1.E.1)
  • Parking brake: efficiency below requirements (3.7.B.7)
Advisory notice item(s)

  • engine oil leak

Seats look right to me? Full black leather sports seats, same as my mums contemporary se had? Defiantly not alcantara in the front.
