Default Rimmer 75-silencer quality

Hello folks!

I need to replace the end silencer on my v6-75, and have been quoted one from Rimmer. How do you rate the quality of the product?

Regards from Leif (the Viking)

I have fitted a couple of these, very good quality though not as good as the original ones fitted in the factory.

As far as I am aware they sell good quality parts. Having just replaced the back box on my V6 with a cheaper version off EBay I have no complaints with it but it is a bit louder than the original box. You get what you pay for. I was in a bit of a rush to get mine as we were due to get a ferry to Ireland on the Tuesday afternoon and it arrived Monday morning!
£40 including delivery from a Germany. Will put a top quality one on when I am flush again.

I have a note that the factory fitted boxes were by Bosal. Does anyone know if that's right?

Yes, the originals were made by Bosal who unfortunately no longer exist

Default Bosal Exhaust

So who is the company at www.bosal.com who say they have been in business since 1923 and sell, amongst other things, exhaust systems??

I've found Bosal on 'tinternet for V6 (£112-135 mind you) - illustration shows the 'old' shape box and not the oval aftermarket version - could be new 'old' stock or are Bosal still in business.
Have I fallen for a well known ruse or is it a magic find?

I bought similar for my 1.8T. The ad showed the MGR clamshell design but the box is actually conventional, oval section. But it also has Bosal stickers.
