Default Cooling fan advice please!

I know this is a perennial subject but hope the fan guru's on here can give me some definitive advice on my situation. 2003 ZT V6 with (presumably) the three speed fan fitted - no silver resistor in sight at the 2.00 o'clock position. It works fine but knowing it likely won't last much longer, and as I need to replace the radiator, I decided to try and fit new brushes to it. So that the car would be off the road as little as possible I bought another fan intending to re-brush it and then swap fans at same time as radiator fitted. Was assured that the fan I bought had come from a V6 but having just examined it in detail it only has three wires going into the fan motor (red, black and mauve) and it has NO resistor. The fan cowl is date stamped 1999 and I think it is from an early 1.8 and is two speed only. If I nonetheless fit it as a temporary measure while I re-brush my original, will it plug and play? I believe these 1.8 two speeds have a lower rated motor (350W as against 450W) but if it will work for a short time, that is all I need. If it won't, or the advice is not to try, I may just use the cowl to fit a Revotec kit from Jules.

Yes, the 3-wire motor is the earlier 2-speed for the 1.8. It won't simply plug'n'play with your V6 system. If you want to make it work, no doubt it can be made to work, but is that worth the wire cutting and joining if you plan to revert back anyway? IMO, you'd be better going with the Revotec plan or fit a second hand resistor type 2-speed.
