I had new springs fitted last March and the inside of my Suspension arms were sound. No rust!

I see your fuel cooler aerofoil has corroded and disappeared the same as mine has.

I have now tackled the job with my angle grinder and I can now report that we are back to solid metal and ready for treating. I will have another day preparing the surfaces and then I will apply Aquasteel (used on ship decks and oil riggs).
It will then get a top coat of hammerite. Finally waxoyl will be applied to the inner sections of the suspension arms and all the nooks and crannies. Its a ll in the preparation!

I'm pleased to say that the rust is not as bad as some of the other pictures I have seen. I put this down to regular hosing down the salt accumulations in winter's past.

What is this? The fuel filter is fitted to the rear. Never realised there was an aerofoil?

The offside rear suspension arm (not the one the spring sits in) has (or in our case had :-/) a small aerofoil to direct air passing under the car into the fuel cooler behind it.

Yes the rivets corrode and or the brackets rot, so they have a nasty habit of falling off.

It's one of the few part numbers I can remember without looking it up it's PIG000010

Unhappy Time to replace!!

Another afternoon cleaning rust off my suspension arms. Unfortunate I discovered a crack along the top of the offside suspension arm. On discovering this its made my mind up to replace. I will use aquaseal on the rest of the rusty surfaces, but exclude the upper arms. Time to replace me thinks!

Good luck!
Do I still get 5% off for LH and RH upper suspension arms? There has been a development today - I found a crack along the upper part of the suspension arm and a screw driver can go through it. Rust was deep in this spot. Strange its gone here!
I'll order on your site
