Default oh no!

After a car park incident where a car pushed me into another car resulting in replacement back and front bumpers I am now looking at a 2 tone car. Color is way off the mark and a lot lighter than midnight blue! Garage admitted it wasn't a good match. What should I do?

You need to contact your insurer and tell them

Many insurers only cover you on public roads - which doesn't cover many car parks! Get your paint matched, and re-spray your bumpers.

That used to be the case but it isn't now. Insurance companies had their wings clipped on that slime out of paying clause more than ten years ago. A public road was commonly defined as a road repairable at public expense, however for the purposes of car insurance it is defined as a road or other public place. Car parks, even private car parks are public places so can no longer legally be excluded from cover. The AA say that at least 20% of all annual insurance claims come from car park accidents making it the most common category of car insurance claims.

Staggering stat that one.
