How common is Black as a colour on 75's?
Just wondering after spotting a nice 2.0 V6 Manual Connie for sale which is Black just how common were Black 75's? I know that Government ones were more often than not black but do not recall really seeing many black 75's in the past when attending meets and gatherings.

No idea as to what variation of black it is and as it's several hours drive south of us not exactly easy to pop down and see. Have sent an general enquiry to the dealer about assistance with temp transit plates which would allow it to be driven up here to be registered in out region or perhaps transport of the car up here.
Yes totally different system here! The transit plates cost about £25 but have no idea how long it would take to get them issued down there! In our registration office it takes about a hour or so but at some offices it can take much ......... much longer For the transit plates one get insurance on the VIN number then gets it altered once the car is registered and has it's normal plate and number and the plates are issued by the registration office. Buying a used car here is not as simple as in the UK . Hmmm tried to copy a photo from the listing here but cannot seem to do so

Had to go through it with my CDT 75 years ago now but as I mentioned we were involved in a nasty collision in 2021 which totalled her. Have been using the Discovery S2 TD5 since then but really need a saloon or estate car not a tall SUV.
Mind you if one buys from a dealer then one does not have to pay a notary to register the change of ownership as it seems the invoice suffices for the registration office to do this which saves some time and money still have to pay an eco tax though which will be something like £200-£400 am unsure until we check and pay the municipal tax (about £90) and a vignette (about £43) for using the national roads.

There are three blacks available on the 75 Pearl Black, Raven Black and Black Olive.
Longbridge records build numbers state: Pearl Black 1554 Black Olive 74 Black Paint C.O.B 3972 They don't list Raven Black but I'm guessing that Black Paint C.O.B is Raven Black, anyone know what C.O.B stands for? Pearl Black and Black Olive were Longbridge only colours so those build figures will be the full amount made however Raven Black was available on Cowley cars as well as Longbridge ones so there will be more than the 3972 (if that is Raven). So I'd say that black isn't especially rare on the 75 but saying that I haven't seen all that many about (in the UK) so perhaps a lot of the black cars went for export. |
